June 6 – Psalm 32

Blessed are you who are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed are you who have the Spirit of Truth within you.

In the first five verses, David is remembering the lessons he has learned and how we have a beautifully written instruction on how to confess our sins and seek God’s forgiveness. He recounts that God is a forgiving God, He cleanses our sins and blesses us when we go to Him. David uses himself as an example.

Then, in verses 6-11, he moves on to teach us and impart wisdom he had gained while living his life as a follower of God. He is reminding us God followers not to presume He will forgive and put off confessing. No, go to confession immediately, with haste. Do not linger or delay or be stubborn as a donkey.

David vividly describes what it is like to hold onto that sin, to remain unconfessional. We have all been there, I am sure. Delaying our confession can tear us apart and drive us away from God. But God so much wants us to lay it at his feet; He allows us, no, directs us, to come straight to Him so that we can find still waters, rest, and refuge in Him. There are no hoops to jump through, a list of good works to be completed, or a human being to go through. We have direct contact with The One. What a God!!!!!

My Verse: “Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.” Psalm 32:1-2

My Response: God I praise you for You are Salvation! I thank You for You have wiped away the stain of sin and replaced it with Your grace. Your mercy on my soul is not forgotten.

My verse: Psalm 32:10 “Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the LORD.”

My response: So true, Father God. Thank You for the blessing of forgiveness when we confess sin and for Your unfailing love that surrounds us, overwhelms us, pours over us in extravagant abundance! Oh, help me turn away from sin and choose You and Your ways and Your love – every time.
