June 12 – Proverbs 3:13-35
Blessed are you who find wisdom and get understanding.
The earth was founded by the Lord’s wisdom, and by His understanding, the heavens were established (verse 19). We should strive for this because if this is how the heavens and earth were created, it goes that so were we! And in that Spirit, we must strive for understanding and wisdom.
Divine wisdom is what the Holy Spirit gives us. It is our responsibility to request of Him this wisdom. When He gives it we are also given long life, heavenly riches, and thus blessed (verses 14-18). What a life of contentment to be had when one finds wisdom! One of spiritual rest!
Spiritual wisdom creates an outward shine as well. Those around one who has the Holy Spirit are easily identifiable. A fruit of the Spirit that declares the adorner to be close with God who seeks Him and His will at every turn.
So, be continually in his Word, pray so that wisdom is strengthened, understanding is gained and renewed, and never too dull.
My Verse: “Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding.” Proverbs 3:13
My Response: Wisdom and understanding come from You through the Holy Spirit. To gain both, I must be continually in Your presence, continually studying Your word, and continually seeking Your will. And I struggle with all of those. Help to keep You in the forefront of my life so that You do not become part of my ‘out of sight, out of mind’ piles.

My verse: Proverbs 3:28 “If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, ‘Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.’”
My response: Thank You, Lord, for practical wisdom – a true blessing from Your Spirit to each of us who has Your indwelling Presence. Help me to help others when I can and not be lazy or indifferent to my neighbors. Please give me wisdom in every decision I make today!
