First of all … it is HARD to choose just one verse when they are all so good and comforting and true! But today, I chose 1 Peter 2:9 “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light!”

Oh what a joy to be Your “very own”. I love being Yours, Lord! I have been brought out of darkness into glorious light. Help me, Lord, to show others the way to this wonderful inheritance open to them as well. I want so much to “show others the goodness of God”. Please help me do this.

  • I chose the verse from Matthew. I am always comforted when I bring my kids to God in prayer that even as passionately I might be pleading for them in that moment, He loves them more. So much more than I ever could. He feels the same way about me.

Dear Lord, thank you that you have called me into your family. Not at an arms length, but with arms wrapped around me.
