My verse today was Proverbs 3:7. I have always stopped, before at Proverbs 3:5-6. Today, verse 7 made me almost chuckle in the New Living Translation with its bluntness: “Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil.” Bahaha! Yep. I can be very wrongly “impressed” with myself and what “I” think is right.
Dear Father God, my wisdom – without Your guidance – will always be self-serving and tainted. Help me to revere You and Your clarity and pure wisdom, turning myself away from evil and toward Your better way. Keep me from the subtle evils of selfishness and pampering!
