June 25 – Matthew 5:8; Revelation 22
Blessed are you who are pure in heart.
Such jubilance! The coming of Jesus!!! Such reasons and arguments FOR being cleansed of our sins! Let’s take a look at verse 14, “Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.” All of the previous beatitudes describe and detail how we are to live, and then Jesus gives us this beatitude of hope! That the narrow road leads to the promised land. That our traveling is worth the travel.
As we stop and take time with God today, let’s look at ourselves and see if our clothes are dirty. Are we presentable for the Most High God? Let’s just take some time today to go to our God, confess our dirt, and ask for cleansing forgiveness. Then, together with Him, let’s create a plan to keep those clothes clean.
Blessed are you who go before Him continually for cleansing. Blessed are you who are washed in His blood. Go before His courts with singing, for you shall see His face!
My Verse: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8
My Response: Lord God, I praise You. You are Alpha and Omega, and You WILL return again!

Loved your commentary today, Melissa! Joy indeeed!!
My verses: Matthew 5:8 “God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.” And … Revelation 22:15 “Outside the city are the dogs – sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idol worshipers, and all who love to live a lie.”
My response: Lord, I read that outside the city are “all who love to live a lie” and meditate on this along with how you bless those whose hearts are pure. You want truth in my inmost parts. You want a pure heart – one that is exposed and open and transparent. One that confesses openly and refuses to “live a lie” even on the smallest matter. Help me to live in full truth even when it’s painful to see my sins – my pride, my selfishness, my petty ways. I want NO lies. NO pretense. Just me. Your girl. Open before You, asking daily for You to forgive, purify, cleanse. Help me to be fully and transparently “me” in Your Presence. I’m so awed and thankful that You see me and help me and love me “just as I am” – yet helping me be better – every day!!
