March 5 – Romans 5:18-21

Our Jesus, we praise You, for You are Salvation. You are Hope. You are Peace!  We love You and want to draw near to You.  Be with us as we come together to spend time with You and worship You.

“Grace abounded even more,” (Verse 20).  Oohhhh, that specific truth just stops me in my tracks, especially after reading yesterday’s passage.  My quiet time was delayed by many to-dos, the fact that it is winter break and New Year’s Eve, as I write this, and very distracted was I!!  So, how much more awe striking was it when I read that line. Grace is not just a one time gift, it covers all things, even my distraction, my neglect to start my day in His Word.

Thank You, oh Lord, for Your continual grace covering.  Thank You for reminding me in such a clear way that while, yes, I should not distract from You, that when I inevitably do, You are gracious to me.  Whispering my name and calling me to sit and have quiet time with You.

Our lives are not perfect and free of blemish, quite the opposite, in fact.  And yet, there is faithful and steadfast Jesus calling us to repent and to be eager to strive for holiness.  His one act of love on that cross reached far more people than sin ever could.  His grace abounds and crosses into the past before His arrival and covers those who had not yet known Him.

If you think that you are too far beyond His reach, you are not.  If He can reach those who came and went before He walked this earth, then He can grab hold of You and call you His own.  I implore you, dear one, to not resist Him, don’t push Him away because you think you are unworthy and unreachable.  In your times of feeling so far from Him, He is still very much right beside you. Loving you. Calling you.  And offering you the ability to have joy.

My Verse: Romans 5:20, “Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.”

Melissa, I needed a reminder of grace today. Nicole and I are taping podcasts and I feel under-prepared. May His grace abound as we tape, filling us with His Spirit as we share …

My verse: Romans 5:18 “Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.”

Two wonderful, priceless gifts. First, we can be in a right and close relationship with You, our God and Creator. Wow. Second, we’ve been granted new life that lasts forever. Oh, how blessed are we!! Thank You, Lord.
