Hope Eternal

March 18 – Galatians 6:6-10

Our Jesus, we praise You, for You are Salvation. You are Hope. You are Peace!  We love You and want to draw near to You.  Be with us as we come together to spend time with You and worship You.

I am no gardener; it is not my skill set, nor do I have the energy for it.  However, I do know that to grow amazing crops, one must start with amazing soil.  Right? The investment of good, nutritious soil is worth the cost.  And if you choose to invest in so-so soil, your produce will be so-so as well.

We are that so-so soil and Jesus is the living water, the good soil, solid and sure.  The time and energy we spend on everything Jesus will produce fruits of the Spirit and then some more. It is not lost on me how many times Jesus speaks to this.

Today, take some time to evaluate your past few days.  What did you spend most of it on?  For me, of late, my phone. It is a great tool for studying, communicating, connection, and even some entertainment.  But. It is also a great tool for dissociating, and that is not what I’m supposed to do. In fact, I have a Post-it note now on either side.  One says, “Don’t touch” and the other says, “Brain rot!!!!!!” Ha!  How do I be more present for my family and more available to God?  By putting down the phone of brain suck.

What does your past few days look like to you?   Re-read Galatians 5:16-6:10, and ask Jesus to linger with you as you plan out how to make Him more of a priority each day.

My Verse: Galatians 6:8, “ For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”

My Response: Jesus, You are my firm foundation, my solid rock and yet also my perfect soil.  Help me to sow into You and not myself. For nothing good comes from me, but everything good comes from You.  Help me to be more You-focused; less of me, more of You.

My verse: Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.”

My response: Thank You, Father, for the good men who pastor my church. I feel so blessed by their humble walks with You. Help us to thank them, respect them, and provide well for their needs.
