Hope Eternal

March 12 – 1 Peter 2:22-25

Our Jesus, we praise You, for You are Salvation. You are Hope. You are Peace!  We love You and want to draw near to You.  Be with us as we come together to spend time with You and worship You.

I almost could not write this lesson because each time I sat down to read this passage before writing, I cried!  And no words would come out.  Just tears, unnamed emotions, wordless prayers.  The convictions of this week’s reading really stung in the face of today’s readings.

Even in my failings, shortfalls, sins, and yucks, Jesus died for me. He knew full well how awful and yucky I would be.  While He was on the cross, He knew of my wanderings, my hurtful nature, my harsh tongue.  And He loved me still, enough to want me with Him.  Unconditional, perfect, and gracious love.  So undeserving.  So freely given.

Today, let’s take what the Spirit spotlighted on our hearts yesterday and today give them back to Him. Take some extended time to go before Him in honor and repentance and allow Him to change those bits of you.

I urge you to reread today’s passage many times over and really soak in the great love our Jesus has for you. And in response, weep, praise, sing, dance!  For He loves you, unconditionally.  He IS enough!

My Verse: 1 Peter 2:24, “He himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds, you have been healed.”

My Response: My Jesus, You are enough.

My verse: “Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.”

My response: I’m so glad You reside in me, Guardian of my soul! My soul needs a guard. What a reassurance that I am Yours and You protect and guard Your own. Thank You.
