June 17 – John 20

Blessed are you who have not seen Jesus yet still believe!

Thomas had the great honor, privilege, and blessing to be in the very presence of proof Himself. Proof that He is, in fact, who He said He was. Thomas could touch Him, smell Him, see Him.

But the time was coming when Jesus would no longer be physically there. Thomas’ doubt, Jesus’ knowledge of the kind of proof he needed and all of it written and accounted for, is for our benefit. It is the benefit to generations of people who cannot physically touch Him.

So much greater is the faith of one who believes without seeing. How blessed are we who have faith and belief without seeing with our own eyes, whose Spirit of conviction brings us to our knees at His feet. How blessed are we to have salvation graced upon us. Such faith! Such blessings!

This makes me think of my children. I can tell them all about Jesus. I can show them Jesus in all that I do and say. But that cannot save them because they must experience Jesus for themselves. Sure, some kiddos will believe more ‘quickly’ or easily than others. But each has their own faith journey and story to tell. So, keep praying for those you long to have run to Jesus. Keep faith that His will will be done.

My Verse: “Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29

My Response: God, I praise You! You give faith to me who has not seen You. You are everything all of the time! I praise You, and I thank You!
