March 26 – Hebrews 12:18-29
Our Jesus, we praise You, for You are Salvation. You are Hope. You are Peace! We love You and want to draw near to You. Be with us as we come together to spend time with You and worship You.
The past few days we have covered salvation, not growing weary, running strong, and now we have read one of the answers to the ‘why.’ We collectively are the church, that is the body of Christ. And we will all live together one day in the kingdom of God. While here on earth it is our duty and responsibility to be strong, set on a firm foundation, holy and united.
Be unshakable. Reminds me of my military days. The line that always came up was, “You are only as strong as your weakest link.” Usually said when someone showed any sign of weakness and while it doesn’t completely transfer over to our Christian faith, it does somewhat support it. We together must be strong and we are all at different points in our faith journey. Some weak, some strong, some new, some old… Therefore, be united as one in the Spirit for if done so, the church is strong.
For those of us who are ‘older,’ we are to show grace and patience. We are to mentor and guide and lead, we can no longer sit back and assume someone else will do it. God’s kingdom cannot be shaken, it cannot be moved, but we here on earth absolutely can. We are given a task to respond to His unshakableness in trust and striving for His strength, for clinging to His undestructible foundation. Look back to verse 28, we are told to be grateful, to worship God in an acceptable way, reverent and stand in awe. That should be how we react when we are confronted with His might indestructible, with unshakable steadfastness.
As you go through your day, look for reminders of how great our God is. He cannot be shaken, He cannot be moved. So, rest in Him. He is your safe harbor until you reach His eternal Kingdom.
My Verse: Hebrews 12:28, “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,”
My Response: Father God, I praise You because You are a consuming fire. You have delivered me from my sin, You have brought me into Your kingdom and You are unmovable!

My verse: “No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering.” Hebrews 12:22
My response: Someday I’ll be there – Your city and that joyful gathering. It sounds exciting, triumphant, and staggering all at once. Yet, quiet moments like now – with You and Your Word, just “us” – are so beautiful, too. I’m so glad You are preparing a place for each of us as well. For where You are, there is fullness of joy!
